In the past, adventure tourism in Thailand has only attracted a niche group of tourists because of the focus on heavy outdoor activities.

Travel was difficult and accommodation unsatisfying and, therefore, not suitable for people with low endurance or high expectations of comfort. However, the modern trend of “adventure tourism” is gaining popularity with both foreign, as well as domestic tourists because of the developments and adjustments of activities to make them more suitable for different groups and individuals. New hotels and other forms of accommodation, as well as new flight routes have been developed close to destinations making travel more convenient. The standardisation done by the responsible organisations also helps raise the level of management of the destinations, as well as the adventure tourism operators.

The team explored and researched 100 of Thailand’s adventure tour destinations that should not be missed. The book covers 33 provinces and more than 10 heavy and light adventurous activities, inspiring tourists who want to add colour to their lives by taking themselves, friends, family, or partner to experience nature or new places and adventurous activities. The various destinations are organised according to the type of activity for ease in use.
